Direct Combustion Systems
We help to create best practice selection criteria and processes for overall plant concept, technology and system to project owners and developers that prefer sales independent, qualified engineering consulting and turnkey contractors and suppliers that want to expand their scope of supply.
Moving Grate Systems
Direct combustion of unsorted, unscreened, fresh MSW from collection truck and storage pit. Waste moisture of 50-70%, high bulk density around 0.8-1.2 and low calorific value around 6 MJ/kg at limited retention time on the grate under insufficient air/oxygen supply in a one-time-pass systems may result in high use of fossil fuels, incomplete combustion, slow flame propagation speed, slow toxin/pollutant destruction, resulting high air emissions and high volume of ash/unburnt material to landfill (20-40%). Grate cooling and wet scrubbers cause high consumption of water. Waste reception and pit storage create high volumes of leachate that need waste water treatment. Systems usually reach 7.500-8,000 operation hours per year are insensitive to change in feedstock composition and characteristics. There are dozens of grate incinerator systems worldwide with a total Waste-to-Energy Plant market share of 70-90% (China 80%). It is solidly proven and widespread for biomass waste.
Fluidized Bed Systems
For the direct combustion of unsorted, undried MSW from collection truck, pre-shredded to 200mm is feed into a force airated combustion chamber for combustion in suspension. Unburnt residues of feedstock are recycled into the combustion process. Complete combustion is reached, fast flame propagation and high toxin and pollutants destruction. Is widely used for poor quality materials such as low quality, wet or bituminous coal, sludge, peat, shale and waste. It is the only system that can co-fire solid, waste derived fuel or biomass and hence is able to avoid fosil fuel use beyond the starting sequence. It has a high power efficieny and low, guaranteed volume to landfill. Does not need grate cooling, comes with dry scrubber (no water consumption) and air cooled condenser system. It does not need cooling tower or water pond. Systems usually reaches above 8,000 operation hours per year are insensitive to change in feedstock composition and characteristics. CFB waste fired power plants have a increasing position for RDF in Europe and Thailand and MSW in China, where they have a of 30-40% market share.
